Time to pause for thought

Remembering my dad who fought in Burma,My uncle Bob who was a medic and was one of the first into Changi, Uncle Bill who was in Normandy and my Uncle Tom who died aged 20 .None were professional soldiers they were just conscripted The stories were heroic and horrific.
And we have learned nothing.War is not a solution to anything.
That doesnt detract from the men on the front line who fight,I would like to bring  them home

My uncle died an hour after the war was over, an American plane decided to have one last hurra and dropped his bombs on to a unit of tanks killing six people, they had white flags flying to show people they were not fighting. Then my other uncle was walking on the grass to allow a convoy to pass when he was blown up by a mine three days before the war ended.

We fought to free the world, but now look at the world we live in.

But we all know that war just makes the rich richer. That is why it never ends.

Thinking of those we have lost and those that are fighting just makes me cry. I wish it would end forever.

I listened to the Remembrance Day service from Camp Bastion yesterday. I was trying to make the Christmas cake and found tears pouring down my face. The sheer stupidity of this war. And 40% of us don't know why we're there. I guess that includes Brown, Milliband and the other fools in this government.

War is the enemy of us all, and governments that keep armed forces, will, from time to time, be tempted use that force to their profit.

"Lest we forget."
