its a sign of how desperate the Government are that they can't win the political arguments that it has to resort to this type of tactic - ones like these used in Russia, China and Souh America spring to mind.
i agree we are well on our way to being a police state and the Tories are no better and the Lib Dems are a joke.
sad thing is most people don't care about issues like this so it just happens without question.
Every day our civil liberties ae being eroded. Freedom of speech is becoming a thing of the past. It is shocking that such dicatorial behaviour exists but then that is Labour for you.

I can't believe this arrest - there needs to be a full Public Enquiry - there is no way, no how a senior member of the main opposition party should be arrested for doing his job. Gordon Brown was famous for attacking from the opposition benches using leaked information about the economy. "One rule for him and a different rule for everyone else?"

In a way, I hope that there is more to this than meets the eye, because otherwise the implications are dire. Of course the Govt knew about it.
I will give the government the benefit of the doubt here, but only just. Though sometimes the police will act when they know they would have permission if it was directly asked for. The Speaker should launch an investigation at the very least and those responsible must account for their actions.
The Speaker probably gave his permission to the Police to raid Green's office. There needs, imho, an independent investigator/investigation.

Once upon a time I watched a youngish man (tony blair) making his spiel when addressing the nation. He promised a fair deal for all...gawd even I took to him and thought oh yes now we will get justice for all the injustices we suffered under MT (refuse to acknowledge her name (spit-spit-spit) - afterthought...did she really get a baroness title? - never mind back to tony blair and his little brown jug.
I believed him - what a mistake to make. The unions were never restored to their former glory. The rich got richer and even during his reign they were favoured by being invited to spend OUR money in no 10. True New Labourism.
Now the Brown Jug is in power - this time around I thought, well cant be worse than tony blair - oh boy was I wrong. What is the matter with us? surely we cant be soo detached to what is truly going on around us so we do nothing?
My advice to the Brown Jug and ffs mr Sweetheart or is it Darling?........introduce BUFFER Economy.
